Codified in Chapter 552 of the Texas Government Code, the Texas Public Information Act gives you, members of the public, the right to request and access government records.  The Act further prevents the government from asking why you want these records.  Although there are exceptions to what may be released as a public record, all government records start with the presumption that they are public.
